In the past year, AUC has gone beyond attacks on leftist guerrillas and civilians it suspects of leftist sympathies by killing trade union members and human rights activists. An AUC spokesman said recently that, to improve its public image, the group would no longer execute more than three people in any one attack.

I guess the next edition of Lonely Planet will recommend that you travel in Colombia only in groups of 4 or more.
